Less than 24 hours away from his second title defense in three weeks, Theo Pryce has taken some time out of his rather hectic schedule to finalize a new business venture. Several months ago, Theo Pryce approached one of the heads of a Oil and Energy Company located in Dallas, Texas about funding some of their new research into clean energy, additionally Theo and the company known as Sherman Energies have agreed to the terms of a sale that will net Theo approximately $400 million dollars for oil rich properties that he been buying up throughout America over the course of the last 5 years. In addition to the sales price, Pryce Industries will also receive a previously agreed upon percentage of Sherman Energies profits over the next 20 years, with the potential for the deal to be extended.

Theo Pryce’s private jet pulls into the hanger 5 at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, where a car is already waiting for him, sent by Theo’s contact at Sherman Energies, under explicit instructions to bring Theo to Sherman Energies Head Quarters in downtown Dallas as soon as Theo’s plane touched down. It was understood that Theo was under a tight timeframe.

As Theo departs the plane he is immediately greeted by a by gentlemen in a black suit and wearing dark black sunglasses.

“Hello Mr. Pryce. My name is Manny. I will be your transportation. Come right this way.”

Manny escorts Theo over to the car, a Black Cadilac Escalade with blacked out windows so as to give some privacy to the occupants of the vehicle. Manny opens the passenger side door allowing Theo to get in and then makes his way over to the driver’s side of the vehicle where he opens the door, get’s behind the wheel and uses the push button on the center console located about 3 inches from the steering wheel to ignite the car’s engines.

The car ride takes 25 minutes and in which not a single word was spoken between either driver or passenger. Upon arriving at the desired destination, Theo get’s out of the vehicle, progresses through the front door of the building and heads directly for the elevator. A few moments later the elevator stops at the 45th floor where Theo’s contact, Jim Riggs is standing waiting.

“Good to see you Theo. Welcome to Sherman Energies Headquarters. I assume the plane right was uneventful.”

“Quick and painless.”

“Great, that’s great to here. I know you are pressed for time so if you will follow me to the conference room we can get these documents signed and get you on your way.”

“Lovely.”

The conference room is located directly across from the elevators about 50 feet away. It’s a spacious room with glass walls making up 3 sides of the room and a bank of windows as the far side wall which shows a remarkable view of the downtown Dallas skyline. The conference room table is long and black and made up entirely of glass. Surrounding the perimeter of the table are black leather chairs and at the end of the table are a few documents approximately a quarter inch thick with pen located next to one of the documents.

“So I understand you have another match tonight is that right?”

“It is. Do you follow wrestling?”

“I did more so as a kid. I loved Hollywood Hogan and the n.W.o, though it seems as great as the n.W.o was to root for as a kid, ultimately, behind the scenes it’s what killed federation.”

“If you say so, I honestly never watched wrestling growing up. Never appealed to me.”

“And yet here you are, a professional wrestler for the biggest federation in America, and the King no less.”

“It’s just a title.”

“Oh come on, that doesn't sound like the Theo that sat across from me at the negotiating table. Modesty? .”

“Believe me, modesty is not something I have in abundance. The XWF is just a place to blow off some steam. And tonight I’ll blow off some more by handing out a beat down.”

“Yeah I saw that guy’s last promo online. He certainly had a lot to say about you.”

“Yeah he does say a lot, a lot of the same things everyone else says, but I should expect nothing less from someone clearly devoid of any original thought.”

“I don’t know, he seemed to have a few good points.”

“Oh really? Like what? What did he have to say that was even remotely useful? Entertaining maybe. Peter Gilmour is entertaining in his promos when you think of him as a 15 year old man child. If that is the standard you want to throw out there than I suppose Haden is entertaining but good? No, he is hardly that.”

“How about we get these contracts signed first and then we can get back to this?”

“Why not do both at the same time. I am sure a bright fellow such as yourself is able to multitask, no?”

“Of course.”

“So tell me Jim, have you ever gone to a professional wrestling event?”

“No I haven’t, almost went to Wrestlemania as a kid once but my Dad never showed up to take me.”

“That’s unfortunate.”

Theo reaches down, picks up the pen located next to one of the contracts and begins signing his name to all the areas where it is marked for him to do so, once finished Theo hands Jim the pen so he can sign the documents, thus finalizing the transaction between Theo Pryce and Sherman Energies.

“Well Theo, it’s been a pleasure. Especially with how quickly this all came together. And that land you just sold us, we are going to make a killing on that oil. Thank you for reaching out to us.”

“Well I had the oil, you have the rigs, it made sense. My father spoke highly of your father back in the day so I figured what the hell. Sorry to hear of his passing.”

“It was for the best, the cancer would have killed him slowly. He didn’t deserve that. He was too proud for that.”

“I’m sure. So tell me Jim, since you saw my opponent’s latest promo, what in it specifically did you think was good? I saw it myself, and he talked a lot as if he knew me, as if somehow he had some insight knowledge into me and how I think. But the truth is, he’s grasping at straws.”

“I will agree with you there, some of it seemed a little farfetched.”

“And that will happen when a guy has been around for 15 minutes talks like he’s been around for 15 years. I have no doubt that this Haden guy might actually be a half way decent business man, his portfolio speaks for itself, there is no denying that. But when it comes to the XWF he’s out of his depth. But that’s fine, I’m more than happy to give him a lesson. Free of charge in fact.”

“Ever the humanitarian.”

“Don’t I know it. Tell you Jim, why don’t you and your new wife, or that blonde you’re banging on the side come to the event tonight. I’ll get you front row seats.”

“I told you about her?”

“No you didn’t. But if I know chances are that wife of yours is going to find out if you aren’t careful. Just one guy looking out for another guy. Oh and by the way, that blonde, she has some stems on her.”

“Stems and daddy issues.”

“Oh, those are the best kind of issues.”

“Tell me about it. But thanks for the tip.”

“Why did you get married by the way? You never struck me as the type.”

“She had something I wanted. Honestly it’s not going to last, I’m sure of that.”

“Cold hearted. I like it. Seriously though, do you want to come to the show tonight? In fact, you could fly back on my jet. Maybe we can watch Haden’s last promo again and laugh about it.”

“Tempting offer Theo but I have some meetings this afternoon that I can’t get out of. Next time maybe?”

“Well you just let me know and I’ll make it happen.”

“Sounds good. And thanks again Theo. Manny here will see you out and get you back to the airfield. Good luck tonight.”

“Thanks.”

Theo leaves the conference room, trailing Manny as they make their way back to the elevator. Before getting there Theo sees a picture of Jim’s father on the wall. Jim Riggs II, he was a great man, so said Theo’s father. He helped to transform Sherman Energies into what it is now, a global empire. Pryce Industries will get there one day soon enough, but it will take the continued drive, ambition and take no prisoners attitude that Jim Riggs II personified.
