"Cain is pain," a voice says in the dark, "Cain is pain."
Those three words again and again. "Cain is pain, Cain is pain, Cain is pain!" Suddenly a small flicker of candle light appears, illuminating the crazy eyes of Griffin.
"Cain is pain, Cain is pain, oh they say, Cain is pain, yet again." He said as his eyes darted left and right as if watching for something. "Cain is pain," he muttered again, more feverishly this time, as if he was being hunted and the words were his running. "Cain is pain, yes Cain is pain." He begins to hyperventilate at this point as still he says, "Cain is pain, Cain is pain." Finally another candle seems to flicker into existence off to Griffin's left, and another over to his right. Slowly the faces of Chris Storm and an eagle mask come into view.
"Cain is pain, oh yes he may, but the Empire, we are stronger than they, they who run with their little games, their little games of murder and pain, the murder games they like to play, can't hold a candle to the wreckage we may, we may create when we arrive, we take the stage this monday night, when Griffin, Chris, and monster too, arrive on Madness to face you, at the top of the ladder awaits our prize, at the bottom however, your demise, see two can play this creepy game, this morbid mind game that you made, you taunt uswith your threats of death, but you failed to see I don't fear death, in fact I welcome it with open arms, if as I die I hear applause, so do your worst, destroy me like sac, but just so you know, I'll be back."
The candles go out and the lights come up on the Griffin's nest ring devoid of life, but blood running crimson red across the mat. "Cain is Pain," spelled out for all to see. The lights go out again then come up on the strange Eagle faced man again. "Hello my piggies," the monster spoke, "let me tell you a story about XCW." He sat in the rocking chair holding the pop-up book that Griffin always reads from and he opened to just the right page.
"This is the story, of how I was born," the monster spoke as he chuckled, "it started one monday, at a stormy ground zero, Griffin was ready to rise as a hero, he had a great match, what a show he put on, the best part of the night, was the fact that he won. Then after the match, the crowd yes they cheered, that is until Demon X had appeared. Yes Demon X entered the ring so quick, then took down a beaten Griffin with one single kick. Then he picked up the poor man, pedigreed the poor sap, then Griffin fell to the floor as if taking a nap, but after that night it seemed something had snapped. See Demon X had done more than embarrass our hero, we had awoken the monster, the monster of ground zero. For weeks after that everywhere Demon X went, it seemed a true demon from hell had been sent. He could see it out of the corner of his eyes, a sharp beak that would ultimately hold his demise. Then one night as Demon X entered the ring, i finally decided to emerge from the wings. I struck him from behind, he found me most unkind, even he didn't know who I was in my mind. It wasn't till I pedigreed him flat on his face, that he realized this monster was that just stood in place. He understood what had happened, it all became clear, Griffin was gone, now this monster was here." The monster shut the book and pulled off his mask to reveal the wild eyes of Griffin. "Since that day Cain, the monster lay dormant, waiting for a foe dark enough to unearth it, it's a fight you want at madness, one thing should be clear, you aren't just facing Griffin, the monster is here."
