The thunder crackles through the air of the small home in Hope, Arkansas. Rain trickles down the window and the raindrops patter against the glass. LH Harrison has just woken up at his usual 4 AM. He sits on the edge of his bed and rubs his eyes with his thumb and index finger on his left and right eye respectively. He leans over and kisses his still sleeping wife of five years. He gets up and gets dressed in a gray sweatshirt, blue tennis shoes, and blue athletic shorts. He stretches for a few minutes. He goes into the bathroom, looks into the mirror, and brushes his teeth before moving his hair to the right side behind his ear.

LH: Three days and counting until the fateful day in which I make my debut into the XWF. Three days until that fatal-4-way match with Socrates, Loverboy, and Mr. Zi. Three days until Inspiration begins filling into the rafters of XWF. Three days unt-…

LH is interrupted by the sound of his cell phone ringing from the hallway. He walks over, picks it up, reads the name Ozymandias. He answers.

LH: Hello?... Oh hello Mr. Ozymandias, how are you?... It is?... So what kind of match is it then?... Alright. I’ll prepare accordingly. Thank you Mr. Ozymandias.

LH hangs up the phone and sets it back on the charger. LH thinks quietly to himself before grabbing his iPod, plugging in his earbuds, and putting the earbuds in his ears. He steps outside of his house into his carport. He looks out into the rain as he contemplates what Ozymandias has just told him.

LH:
(Thoughts) So it’s revealed that the date was wrong on the match card and that I’ll actually be in a tag team match this upcoming week. Well that actually suits me better.

LH turns the song on his iPod on. It’s ‘Alive’ by POD. He darts out into the pouring down storm dissecting the match for next week.

LH:
(Thoughts) It seems Mr. Zi and I will be taking on the duo of Loverboy and Socrates. With those two sexualized personas, you may as well call their team Bedroom Antics. I may have said some crude things to Bobby Zi, but hopefully we can both be professional enough to put it behind us for at least one match. For what it’s worth, I apologize Mr. Zi. Loverboy seems to have taken a particular interest in me, and it seems to stem from my choice of religion.

The rain pounds down on the pavement around LH as he turns the corner at the end of the street onto the next road. He is completely drenched, but the hardship of the run seems only to fuel his strides.

LH:
(Thoughts) And good for Mr. Loverboy. He needs as much religion as he can find. Especially with his… unique sense of challenging others to matchups. I mean who leaves a poop in a toilet and asks the recipient of the challenge to come flush it for him? I think a ‘yes’ or even a punch to the mouth would’ve sufficed better than flushing your bowel movement for you. But I guess it would be too much to ask the privileged rock star to flush his own excretion.

LH wipes some of the water out of his eyes as the song switches to ‘Awake and Alive’ by Skillet. He picks up his strides as he goes up a large hill. The rain continues to splatter on the pavement and on LH’s face.

LH: (Thoughts) Come Tuesday night, Mr. Bobby Zi and I will form a fearsome duo and we will destroy the STD-laden team of Loverboy and Socrates. We will join up in a fashion that will be honorable. We will join forces in a team that doesn’t resort to under-handed tactics. We will be the victors, and we will prove that all we need to win is just to be Inspirational.

LH finally gets to the gym that was across town from his house. He gets under the small awning hanging over the side entrance. He pulls out his iPod to turn it off and notices the time.

5:30

LH: Well that means the kids should be here for our last wrestle session in an hour and a half.

LH takes a deep breathe out. Today is the last day that he is working with the kids as he takes up the rigorous XWF schedule the following week. Suddenly feeling the cold in the air, LH decides to open the door. He opens it and is stunned. He sees a huge banner across the center of the arena that is blue with yellow letters that reads ‘THANK YOU LH!’ He sees all of the kids that he normally works with in the ring yelling ‘Thank you LH!’ All of their parents and about fifty other people stand around the ring in the center of the room applauding. LH’s wife, Jessica, comes up to him from the group, kisses him on the cheek, and hugs him tight.

Jessica: You deserve this baby.

LH laughs and shakes his head.

LH: All I’ve done is help those around me and try to be an inspiration. How’d you get here so fast?

Jessica: I was picked up by our neighbors as soon as you left baby.

LH: Well I’m glad to have you by my side.

LH kisses her, lifts her up, and swings her around.

LH’s brother Franky Harrison comes up, and hugs him.

LH: Hey Franky, apparently everyone showed up for this event.

Franky: Dude, you know every’un supports you man. They know you’re leavin’ for awhile too.

Franky then walks away and steps into the ring. The crowd stops applauding to give him their undivided attention.

Franky: LH, bro, we’re here today to honor you for every’in you’ve done for this community n’ for dese kids. Your time n’ dedication will never be forgotten. We’ve all assembled here today to watch your final workout wit dese kids.

LH Harrison gets into the ring and the kids attack all try to hug him. LH laughs and hugs them back before stepping into the center of the ring.

LH: Thank you all… thank you all so much. I only wanted to make you all feel inspired, and, if I did that in some small part, then I have succeeded. In a few short days, I will be starting a new phase of my life in the XWF, but I’ll keep the thoughts and memories of the people and town of Hope with me. Now, kids… who’s ready?

The kids cheer and the camera fades to black.
