The large crowd of people surrounding a large, steel, fight cage with nothing inside of it except a few fresh puddles of dark red liquid and several smeared stains of red all along the concrete inside. The unconscious or possibly dead body, covered in bruises and gashes, being dragged through the crowd away from the cage. The lack of sufficient lighting, along with the inability to see any walls, giving the impression that the outlining darkness could go on for quite some distance. The money being passed around and the numbers being shouted out as the green passes from hand to hand. The half dozen or so gentlemen standing around, on guard, with visible automatic firearms strapped to them and black sunglasses even though it's already very dark. The smell... Yes, there's a certain smell in the air. All of these factors suggest one very important thing - It's perfectly acceptable to light up a smoke of any kind.

Unless your name is Evertrust.

If your name is Evertrust, there's no time to light up but there's probably enough smoke in the air from everyone else that you could inhale and get a mix of cigarette, cigar, weed and various other types of smoke inside your lungs. If your name is Evertrust, the last thing on your mind is probably a smoke. The screaming of these maniacs around you is more than fulfilling your crave at the moment... and they don't even know your name. If your name is Evertrust, you're down in this underground cesspool of greed and violence for one reason and one reason only - To get in on the action. If your name is Evertrust, you can reach right into your left pants pocket and pull out a roll of hundred dollar bills to hand to that European looking gentleman collecting money and taking bets.

I'm putting it all on the guy in the blue!

The money passes into the man's hand and is officially on the line for this next fight. If you're Evertrust, you are fairly confident that you'll be winning your bet because you always bet on the guy in the blue...
and the guy in the blue, is you.

To be Evertrust in this scenario is to know that everything is on the line. Not the money; that doesn't matter in the slightest, as Evertrust easily could have placed every dollar he owns on the line or just $1. Either way it meant nothing; what's on the line is his name within the walls of the community known as the X-Treme Wrestling Federation. The live camera feed that he has paid for is going to cover all of the action of his fight tonight as it broadcasts live to the XWF viewers. This puts even more pressure on you if you're Evertrust because it means there's this preconceived notion that you're supposed to win; it's your promo. To come out as anything but the winner in an underground fight scene would mean you might as well not show up for Madness, but to come out as the winner would mean you're just living up to the expectations of the audience but have accomplished nothing truly noteworthy. There's really no way to have a big payoff in a situation like this, if you're Evertrust.

Standing at the door of the steel cage, Evertrust loosens his tie. He removes his suit jacket and drops it on the ground next to the cage. The right hand goes into the pocket. The tape recorder comes out. With a click of his thumb he begins recording and brings the device right up to his mouth so as to be heard over the very loud, rowdy crowd of people all around him.

Most of the fighters that come down into this pit aren't that talented; either they win a few fights and then move up to bigger and better things because there are scouts all around, or they get hurt pretty quickly... or worse. The majority of the fighters down here are getting into the cage because they need this; they need to fight to survive because they can't find a payday any other way and they don't have enough money to place a sensible bet on a fight. Anybody who fights because they want to fight is probably keeping far from this place. Unless you're me - Because then you'd see the beauty in such a treasure as this place really is. I'd tell you more about that but they object heavily to me bringing the recorder into the cage with me. Adieu for now.

The recording device is clicked off and set down on top of his jacket. He steps into the cage and slowly steps over a rather large puddle of blood as he makes his way to his corner to await his opponent. Evertrust doesn't look like much of a fighter in his black slacks and blue dress shirt, but the prospect of his own tie being used to choke him is probably the most intriguing part of his chosen attire. The crowd of people start getting restless as the opponent is brought toward the cage.

Meet Pedro,
He comes to the fight pits to try and raise money to feed his 6 children and those are just the ones that live with him and his wife. He also is expected to support his other children, of which there are believed to be a total of 13 from a handful of different women. Pedro has certainly had a lot of luck with the ladies and is considered quite a charmer; a bit of that rugged man's look with some of that Latin passion for all things that he embarks on, including the conquest of a lovely young lady. The lights are so dim and there's so much smoke in the air that there's not a clear shot of Pedro, but we do know that this is his return fight. He was on the sidelines nursing a serious injury for a few months after losing a fight to Kaziwanda "The Ugandan Sex Trade King" who we happen to have this photo of for your reference:

Kaziwanda isn't present tonight, unfortunately, but he was said to be elated at the news of Pedro's return and hopes to injure him again very soon after Kaziwanda gets done with the very busy trading season that's upon us. Pedro has gone on record as stating that after he wins this fight today, he wants Kaziwanda in the cage in a fight to the death and he refuses to wait until this busy trading season comes to a close. The fact that this information is readily available to be relayed to you also means that Evertrust was already aware of it. He had done his homework on the situation and knew Pedro would be looking to make his return. Evertrust knew how much this would mean to Pedro and he knew that Pedro would expect to walk right through this normal looking human in a pair of slacks and a dress shirt. Pedro enters the cage with a pair of jean shorts and gym shoes. His chest is bare and all of his tattoos - mostly various sayings in Spanish - cover the majority of his upper torso. Pedro cracks his knuckles as he stares at Evertrust in a cocky and arrogant manner while Evertrust casually unbuttons the cuffs of his shirt sleeves and rolls them up halfway.

Ric Flair has been known to chop a chest.

Evertrust has been known to chop a chest, but he wouldn't be likely to attempt that in a cage fight. Instead, a distracting lift of the left leg just an inch off the ground sets the fleeceable Pedro up to receive the ultimate chop - right across the eyes. The edge of Evertrust's fingers caught Pedro's left eye as this chop was delivered so hard that it would have left welts on his chest. Instead, it has severely injured Pedro's eye in some manner the camera can't get a full shot of due to him screaming and covering it. This doesn't stop a fight down here, though. Evertrust goes right for the simple conclusion - A comfortable slumber for Pedro. He locks in a very tight sleeper hold on Pedro as Pedro tries to fight out of it and now his injured eye can be seen by the camera... it's very swollen and red, and it looks like some of Pedro's eyelid might actually be hanging freely. Anybody who has been on a receiving end of a properly delivered chop can tell you how it can rip open your chest, and that's a thick chest... not a flimsy flap of skin like an eyelid.

Pedro doesn't even come close to making anybody in attendance believe he will escape the sleeper hold. It isn't long before Pedro is out cold on the ground, his face fallen right into a puddle of somebody else's blood and touching his injured eye. Evertrust takes his foot and gently wipes the bottom of his shoe all over the side of Pedro's face to get the blood off, and then repeats the process with his other shoe before exiting the cage as the undisputed winner. The cash prize for winning this fight is irrelevant, much like the winnings from the additional bet Evertrust placed on himself. The true value is in the fact that now the onlookers of the XWF can say they've seen Evertrust in battle. No longer is he only known as the strange sounding or boring man in the suit; now he's known as the man who defeated a poorly trained Hispanic man in an unsanctioned cage fight with just two moves. It doesn't mean much, but remember those pebbles Evertrust spoke of earlier in the week. The first few pebbles are always the smallest. Remember that it's always the pebbles that come first; those small bits of rock and debris rolling down the hill and drawing your attention upward to something much greater that's causing a disruption... something that already is in motion and has more momentum than you could ever hope to stand up against.

Tonight is Madness. Tomorrow is a whole new awareness.
