First darkness.

Then a dim light shines illuminating a small square room with 4 desks, in the centre beams of energy flourish and our hero teleports in. A little older, a little wiser, Game Girl flicks her blue hair from her eyes and looks at the room, her view shifting between each desk. Her foot begins to tap and her head begins to bob rhythmically. A slight smile forming on her big, round face.

“This music slaps. Shame the rest of this world is so… Basic.”

GG inspects one of the desks, swiping a finger across and collecting dust which she rubs between her fingers.Turning on a heel with a bounce in her step she tilts her head looking down the hall and begins to stroll, humming the beat in the background. She then enters a void (subtle) with 4 doors of different colours. Game Girl’s eyebrows raise as she looks to each door; a slight curve comes to her brow. An exasperated sigh flows from her mouth as she enters the red door and is warped to an icy cold bridge; she rubs her arms as snow falls and her pupils flick erratically at the many intersecting paths. A slight shiver as she forces her feet forward down one of the random roads.

And she walks, for some time before reaching a crack peeking through space.

As GG rushes in with a shiver, brushing off the snow and looks to the silent, dead-eyed crowd in their seats. Game Girl slowly walks down the ramp, her footsteps echoing throughout the arena of shadows until she reaches a pool of blood and a wrestling ring. Her eyes change from the blood to the ring and then her neck swirls on a pivot to view the crowd. She takes steps closer and closer to the cardboard cutouts of fans and walks straight over them. A smirk creeps onto her face and she can’t help but let out a laugh which fills the arena; wiping a tear from her eye she says out loud.

“Jeez, Ned.” She gives a stomp down to the crowd. “Way to kill the immersion, dude. I guess you were gonna pull a classic you and just do the coding later?”

GG shakes her head with a sigh and continues walking through the crowd and enters into the never-ending blackness; falling into the dark void below she places her hands behind her head in a relaxed pose. Her bag flailing in front of her she grabs a phone from inside and begins typing a message.

“Be back late, this place is a mess. Leave some leftovers, kisses.”

Placing her phone back into her bag she extends her arms and begins to rotate forward and she cracks the floorboards as she lands back into the original room; now a red notebook on one of the desks. She looks to it with dawning thoughts.

“Ooohhhhh… It’s one of those. Walking sim and get the thing; welp! Heck that noise.”

Game Girl snaps her fingers and the other journals appear on the desk and she whips her head to the sound of a loud click; a door just ajar ahead of her. GG digs deep into her bag and pulls out an oversized warhammer which she slings over her shoulder and hops on over to the door, whistling the consistent dope beat. Entering the door, she sees a plain room and a mirror; not showing her but instead Ned Kaye. He stays in the reflection, motionless, his cold eyes staring back at her. She moves into the center of the room and inspects the mirror; she then rolls her eyes.

“Really, Ned? You have the power to create anything in the palm of your hands and this is what you come up with? Empty rooms with empty journals to unlock an empty room with empty meaning? All of this, THIS? To plug yet another man in the mirror cliche? Ha! Why do you do this to yourself? The movie script, this game, the board game… Grow up! And that’s coming from me, dude. You’re a good person Ned, and a darn fine wrestler… A creative person in some aspect but it certainly seems like you need a longer deadline to make something worthwhile. C’mon, not even ONE enemy? Or is the message that the only enemy Ned has is himself? Cool story, cruddy game.”

“I would like to talk to you when Ned was good, when he was a nice guy. When he didn’t need these stupid gimmicks to explain himself, he would just… Explain himself like a human being; which is always charming. You don’t need to do all this, you’re just kidding yourself and you’re raising the bar for yourself, which for a mediocre career isn’t a good thing. That was mean, sorry. But I dunno… Avalanche, this crud. It’s not you; you want to appear like you’re a force now when in reality you’re the type of guy to break down in tears if I showed up to your house and eat a kitkat the wrong way. Now, you’ve got no title, a lacklustre place in your career and on top of that, the only likable part of you is trapped in a dang mirror.”

Game Girl hefts the warhammer and swings it into the mirror, breaking the reflection into a million pieces as shards fly into the air.

“Either I’ve helped out or made things a lot worse… Oh well, you’re only hear til you run out of lives.”

The debris freezes mid-air as the room flashes white then black then white quicker and quicker accompanied by blaring alarms.
