England v Germany: A history of rivalry: Part 3

Shared Heritage

English and German are both West Germanic languages. Modern English has diverged significantly after absorbing more French influence after 1066. English has its roots in the languages spoken by Germanic peoples from mainland Europe, more specifically various peoples came from what is now the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, including a people called the Angles after whom the English are named. Many everyday words in English are of Germanic origin and are similar to their German counterparts, and more intellectual and formal words are of French, Latin or Greek origin, but German tends to form calques of many of these. English has become a dominant world language and is widely studied in Germany.

European Championship Semi-final, Wembley 1996

England had taken the lead against a unified German team through the tournament's top scorer, Alan Shearer. Stefan Kuntz equalised for Germany and the score remained at 1-1 until the end of extra time. In another penalty shoot-out, all five England penalty-takers and all their German counterparts were successful. In the "sudden death" shoot-out Gareth Southgate missed for England and Andreas Möller scored for Germany. Germany went on to win the tournament.

World Cup qualifying match, Munich, 2001

Under their first foreign coach, Sven-Göran Eriksson, England were not expected to perform well, but a Michael Owen hat-trick ensured they won 5-1 and eventually qualify for the World Cup as group winners. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "This is a new Waterloo for us."

Brexit: United Kingdom leaving the EU

After British occupation of West Germany from 1945 to 1950, they became close allies in NATO, which continued after reunification. Both nations were initially very active in the European Union, with the UK creating the Single Market; however, gradually Germany broke away from the free-market origins of the Common Market with Britain becoming increasingly disquieted as Berlin and Paris called for ever closer political integration. Following political policies such as a shared currency (the UK never adopted the euro) Britain slowly withdrew and Germany became one of the EU's more dominant nations and then finally, in a referendum held in 2016, the UK voted to withdraw from the European Union after 43 years of membership. The United Kingdom will be the first country to ever leave the EU.

Scully passes the remote control for the TV to Natalie after just watching an advert for the hotel they were staying in. Skull stood up from the chair and stretches with a great big yawn. Little Aston was asleep in the bedroom and Skull was a little bored. He means over to Natalie who was led on the sofa and kisses her on the lips, passionately.

"I'm just gonna have a wonder around the hotel, do you want anything?"

"No, I'm okay babe."

"I might pop in the Fitness Center actually, check that out. I'll just grab some work out gear."

"Don't be long then gorgeous."

"I won't. I'll take us out for dinner later."

Natalie smiles and grabs Skulls t-shirt, pulling closer for another kiss. Once the smooching is done, Skull goes to his drawers and pulls out a training vest and shorts, putting them in a small sports bag with a towel. He smiles at Nat and makes his way out of the door. After roaming the corridors of the hotel, Skull makes it to the fitness centre. On the door is a sign asking for users of the hotel to come back at exactly 2pm, it was 1.43pm now. Skull tries the door and it opens, he shrugs and walks in. He notices about three security men by a running machine. On the running machine is Boxings WBC heavyweight Champion, Deontay Wilder. It appeared that no one else was in the fitness centre other than them, which was a little odd. The security guards whisper to one another and then two of them make there way towards Scully.

Security Guard 1: "Excuse me sir, can you come back in just fifteen minutes when Deontay will have finished his workout?"

"Pardon? Are you for real? Does Deontay own this gym?"

Security Guard 2: "No, but the hotel agreed Deontay could have the gym for his workout and then it will be reopened for the public."

"Erm.... I paid for the hotel so I am going to use the facilities, regardless if the chump Is here or not!"

Security Guard 1: " You only have to wait ten minutes now. Come on man, there's no need to be like that."

"Look, I need to get changed anyway so I'm going to do that, regardless."

Skull shrugs and walks past the security guards like they wasn't there. Skull enters the changing room and proceeds to get changed. After about five minutes, he is changed and ready for the workout. Skull re-enters the gym and Deontay is right in front of him. Skull has to look up at him as he is 6ft 7. Deontay doesn't look too pleased. His security guards stood around him.

"Why ya gotta be awkward man? Pretty shitty thing to do! You know who I am?"

"Should I know who you are, windmill?"

Deontay was even more pissed off now. Windmill was a term that some boxing fans used to describe Wilders wild punches. The security guards try and escort Deontay away. He takes a deep breath and goes to walk off before something escalates. By this time other hotel users were entering the gym.

"Hey... Maybe you'll stop being a coward and fight AJ now!"

Deontay had heard enough and swings wildly at Skull. Skull dodges and Deontay punches one of his security guards on the chin, knocking him out. The security guard led on his back, not knowing where he is.

"Arrrrggh shit man, Jamal. You okay maan?"

Deontay kneels down next to the security guard as the others do to. They try and wake him up. Skull smirks and walks past, sarcastically saying, "And that's why they call you, windmill!"

"Hello Nathaniel, I have the answers for you. You asked if I'm ready? What do you think? I'm more ready than you'll ever be! Skull is ready to take the XWF Television Championship from you, a whole week after you captured it. Are you ready to lose it? Tough shit cuz that's what is gonna happen!

You think a pansy like you, trying to threaten me, intimidate me makes me nervous? Should I just stay in the back and not bother walking down the aisle, entering the ring and facing you like a man? Shall I hide and cower in the locker room, pretend I forgot I was actually in a wrestling match? Pffftt... Don't be a tool! I ain't afraid of you, I ain't afraid of what you stand for either, I'm not afraid of what I'm gonna do to you because I am going to enjoy every second. I am going to beat you so bad, you'll still believe Hitler is alive!

If you need proof if I am ready, then you only have to wait a short while. I'm glad you're confident, feeling you have the ability to overcome my challenge but when you're looking up at the lights of the arena at the end of the match. In pain. In agony. Hurting like you've never hurt before and you will just about have the consciousness to hear 'Angels Fall' blarring in the background before you eventually pass out, the audience in attendance will be watching Scully with the XWF TV title raised above his head.

Everything I say is relevant because I said. You think the England VS Germany rivalry means nothing in this match? You believe the past is not important? You are more deluded than you look.
I am a former XWF Universal Champion, I am a former Xtreme Champion, a three time Tag-Team Champion. I am the NEXT XWF Television Champion. I am #Made4TV. I am Scully!

You may wake up from the savage beating I am going to dish out on you, you may not, either way I don't care. This is where the New Empire begins to crumble already and you, your little group of nobjocks will wish you NEVER messed with Scully. Da End, Scully Has Spoken!
