Hi Everyone,

We've had some new faces and some returning faces join our ranks and so now feels like a good time to remind folks of some of our roleplaying rules, particularly for Savage as the rules there are pretty different from what some of the returning folks may be used to.

First and foremost, and this applies to both shows, the roleplay deadline is not midnight, it is 11:59pm. Which means 11:59pm is the last minute you can post a roleplay and have it count for the week. Anything posted at midnight will be disqualified unless there are extenuating circumstances and you are given the OK from a GM. But honestly that really should not happen unless there are issues with the boards being down which as we all know can and does happen from time to time.

Below are the two main roleplaying rules for Savage:

We have a basic 2 RP Max Per Calendar Day rule in effect. Always make sure to check the official card to see your EXACT limits for RPing all week, which should be listed right under your match.

Also, remember to allow a minimum of TWO HOURS between roleplays. We do not want to see people manipulating the sandbagging rules by holding out on RPs just to post them together.

In addition to this we also have word count limits on Savage that we do not have on Warfare.

When you opt into Savage we ask you to pick one of 3 different options which are listed below:

Option 1: 1000 Word Limit - 4 RP Maximum
Option 2: 2500 Word Limit - 3 RP Maximum
Option 3: No Word Limit - 2 RP Maximum

We do our best to book you in a match using the option you selected but sometimes that isn't possible, in either case when the card is posted the option you are booked into WILL ALWAYS be listed on the card under your match so there are no excuses for you to not know what rules you need to follow. This applies to number of roleplays as well as the word count.

If you are booked into a roleplay limit but go over that limit in terms of numbers of roleplays then we will DQ any roleplay over that limit.

Example: You are only allowed to do 3 roleplays but post 4. The 4th will be DQ'd. If your roleplay is DQ'd you can use it for another match if you want but it will most likely require some heavy editing as we assume your roleplays are opponent specific but again, you can reuse if if you want. If we DQ your roleplay and it disappears from the boards PM one of the GM's and they will be able to send it to you. We don't delete roleplays but we do "hide" them.

Secondly, if you are booked into either option 1 or option 2 which both have a word count limit it is your responsibility to not go over those limits. If you do by a word or two we allow for some leeway there as the formula the boards use for counting words differs from Microsoft Word which differs from wordcounter.net but if you are going over by 20-30 words that's from laziness.

If and when someone goes over the number of words that they are allowed the first thing we try to is try to reach out to everyone involved in the match and work out an agreement where we can avoid DQing work if we can.

So let's say as an example Seth Feder has a 2500 word limit for his roleplays and he writes a roleplay for 2600 words we can either DQ the entire RP, which is usually not going to happen, or we can stop judging anything after word 2500, which is a likely scenario or, and this is the option that the GM's prefer, we reach out to Seth and his partner and say "Ok Seth went over his limit by 100 words, would it be acceptable by both parties if the opponent was able to then do an rp for 2600 words. This way the number of words is even. If everyone agrees to this then we proceed forward and everything written gets counted. Again this is the scenario we prefer because our goal is to ensure fairness but also reward people for the work they did and not punish them.
