So... I doubt anyone really remembers me but I thought I'd say hello again.

My name is Oliver. A little less than two years ago I joined XWF and started RP'ing and getting to know everyone. I had a lot of fun. Most of you people are absolutely fucking crazy, but you're my kind of crazy. I feel like I was making a nice little home for myself here. I had some good matches, I was really digging into my character and liking him, I even signed up to be a match writer. It was good times.

Then my father died. To this day I cannot possibly put into words how much that man meant to me. Saying he was my hero doesn't even come close to describing how much I loved him. To this day it's hard to talk about him without crying. But life goes on, and as cliche as it sounds, time heals all wounds. Or at least makes them manageable.

When my father died, I felt like everything good in my life died with him, including my desire to write and the joy I experienced when roleplaying against an opponent, win or lose. So I abruptly walked away.

To this day I have no idea how my abrupt departure was handled. I didn't care, so I left it up to the powers-that-be. After deciding to return, I decided to just scrap the entire character and essentially "reboot" Jonathan Willis, creating an entirely new character with an entirely new background and story and etc. etc.

I kept the name because... well, I've been using that name as an e-fed character for a long time. If it's no longer viable for me to use that name anymore, I can always switch names. Also, if anyone thinks I rebooted the character just to get my record clean, I'm fine with carrying over any wins/losses I had, especially the losses I probably accrued after leaving so abruptly.

That's pretty much it on my end. I look forward to getting to know everyone again and finding a home here again. If anyone would like to read my "reboot" and "re-debut" RP, it's posted here. I'd love to get some feedback if anybody has any.

First of all, welcome back! Second of all, no need to worry about the Win/Losses becuase no one really cares about them. Also, I doubt anyone will really mind you using the same name even if he is a completely different character. Third of all, sorry for your loss. Actually, I was around two years ago and even a little while before that but I lost a dear friend and also ghosted. People don't hate me so I doubt they will hate you now unless you were a dick. Shit happens but you have to put life before fedding and no one is going to hold it against you for leaving.

Now as for the rp, I have to say I'm enjoying the creepy crazy "I just want to hurt people" stuff but then again I have a thing for those kind of characters I guess lol. I actually really enjoyed the returning rp you posted. I can't wait to see more. Sorry, I kind of suck at Feedback unless their are a lot of issues with it but there are plenty of people who would be willing. Engy would defiantly take a look at it for you and let you know what he thinks. He's way better at feedback than I am.

What's very odd about this timing is that just the other day I was loading up a computer I hadn't turned on in a couple years, and one of the tabs that was still saved in the browser was actually an RP of yours. I remember thinking I wonder what happened to that guy... and now a couple days later you're back?

I'm glad you remembered us and that you felt like you had a home here.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I know the feeling. I lost mine in 2012 to cancer and it's not really something you ever stop being sad about, you know?

I feel for you man. Your story hits real close to home for me. My dad has cancer and not a day goes by that I don't have that dread in the back of my mind. He's doing ok for now, but this is his second go round with it. It scares the shit out of me.

Nice to see you back! I vaguely remember the name Jon Willis, though I might have been largely inactive during your stay (chances are if we've encountered each other I was still going by Maverick).

Hopefully this place can help you give yourself an outlet over any kind of pain you might have had over your father, I know grief can definitely take a while to go away for good. If you ever need to vent about it, my DMs are always open.

Just wanted to pop back in and thank everyone for the kind words. Like I said, y'all are most definitely my kind of crazy. I'm really looking forward to getting back in the swing of things around here.
