The Bank Job Part 3 - The Job
Stan
The cold wind was making Stan's face sore as he crouched on the roof of the bank looking over to the street below waiting for the signal from Halliday. He was running through the plan over and over in his head.
The first part of the plan and easiest was what he was doing now, Waiting on the roof until he gets the signal.
Once he received the signal from Halliday enter the air duct on the roof behind him and quickly but carefully make his way into the bank. If the planning is correct the airs icy should pass directly over the vault that is believed to be the temporary home of the Alibahnial Statue. There will be armed guards, one inside the vault and two on the outside of the door.
Once in position above the vault, quietly signal Timmy B who will be still sat in the car out the front of the bank. Halliday had hooked them up with top of the range hands free kits. Stan quickly taps the button on the ear piece signalling the others to ensure they are working. A response comes through almost immediately from Halliday, Chris and Timmy.
The next part of the plan is to wait for the right time then enter into the vault by popping the panel of the air duct out. Now this isn't some mission impossible shit, there is no crazy alarm systems on the floor only if you pass through the door. The banks don't really have their fingers on the pulse when it comes to top of the line security looking after everyone else's money and property. Once in the vault it will be time to search for the statue then exit back out through the air duct, back up to the roof and down the fire escape as quickly as possible. There is a small window of time for him to get back to the roof and then back down to the car.
Stan ran through the plan a few more times while he waited, it was a simple plan but he needed to be sure.
Macbeth
Chris Macbeth turns the corner on the cold Monday morning and sees the getaway parked exactly where it should be, opposite the bank, engine still running. He can see Halliday sat in the passenger seat with Joe behind the wheel. He looks towards the roof to see if he can spot Stan, he couldn't from this angle but before he had chance to feel any concern his headset came to life and he heard Stan's voice testing the equipment.
The bank was approaching and he noticed Halliday look over towards him and give a nod, Macbeth nods back before entering the bank.
The bank was beginning to fill up with people just as they had hoped while planning the job. They needed a crowed. Macbeth joined a line waiting to use a cash machine dropping the duffel bag he had been carrying on the floor next to him.
Halliday
Halliday was sat in the car with Joe. He knew the plan should be fool-proof so his confidence was at a high. He could tell through that Joe was nervous, I mean it was his first job of this kind. Halliday reassured him it will be fine advising him to just keep the engine running and to keep a close eye out for any of us. Hopefully if plan goes accordingly Stan will be the only one to return to the car with the statue and they can quickly make their getaway. That's if the plan goes as it should, IF!
Halliday looks over and see's Macbeth approaching the bank, he gives him a nod, Macbeth reciprocates before heading into the bank.
"Ok, it's show time." Halliday says out loud before giving Joe a tap on the shoulder and exiting the car. As he exist the car he adjusts his tie, which was the signal that Stan would be waiting for. Halliday had a quick peak to the roof and saw Stan's head disappear from sight.
"Game on" He thought to himself as he headed into the bank.
Once inside he looked around and spotted Macbeth stood in the line for the cash machine so headed towards him waiting in the line behind.
Joe
Sitting and waiting can be a painful task but in this instant it was anything but, there was too much going through Joe's head as he watched Halliday enter the building. He stair kept swapping between the front door of the bank and the road along side the bank in which the fire escape was located which Stan if all goes well we be running down in a few minutes time, hopefully with the statue.
His legs were shaking in nervous anticipation, his mind was playing tricks on him, he kept checking the car was still running despite the fact it wasn't some quiet electric car you could clearly hear the engine.
Waiting , waiting, waiting.
Timmy B
Stood alongside his new colleague that he hadn't even learned the name off Timmy B looked smarter than he would normally. He was a bit of a football shirt and jeans type of guy but today he was wearing full on security gear.
Halliday had pulled in some contacts and got him the security gig to hopefully make this whole job a lot damn easier. Timmy just had to wait for the commotion out the front and the make his move.
And so it begins.
Chris MacBeth looks over his shoulder as he takes the wad of notes from the machine. He picks up his duffel bag and shoves the cash in it. He try's not to glance at Halliday behind him as he turns to walk out of the bank.
Just as he is past Halliday he feels the expected tug on his bag then the follow-up yank, he holds his grip as Halliday keeps pulling, Macbeth shouts for help and then braces himself. The fist hit him with the ferocity of something that would be done by your enemy not by your friend in a staged situation. He stumbles back and shouts for help again trying to get the security guards attention when suddenly there guns shots could be heard ringing throughout the bank followed by a lot more real screaming from the innocent bystanders. This wasn't part of the plan but it definitely did get the security's attention including Timmy who rushed out from guarding the bank vault only to come face to face with someone holding a Ak47 wearing a Joker mask. Timmy rushed whoever it was knocking them to floor and causing them to drop the gun.
Macbeth and Halliday had stood froze for second or two before pulling out their own guns and diving behind cover. There must have been a dozen masked gun men in the bank who didn't appear to be going for anyone except them as the counter they were hiding behind was beginning to crumble under the pressure of being riddled with gunfire.
Timmy had picked up the Ak47 from the downed mask wearer and had pumped a few bullets into him, then had turned his attention to the remaining gunmen and loaded a couple of them with bullets. There was about 4 gunmen left alive that Macbeth and Halliday could see.
Halliday made a break for it With the attention of the attackers turned towards Timmy. He made it outside and sprinted off down the road not knowing what the heck was going on.
Back inside Macbeth had fired a few shots of his 9MM into the back of one of the gunmen causing a distraction for Timmy to try and get outside and to safety, Timmy had been hit though and Macbeth could see that it didn't look great despite Timmy managing to escape out of the bank leaving just Macbeth and 3 gunmen.
Some shout in foreign occurred between the gunmen when a couple of them disappears id into the back of the bank towards the vault leaving Macbeth one on one with the other. They were both crouched behind counters either side of the bank. Macbeth fired a couple of warning shots blind over the top of the counter, this was retaliated on the same manner. It was a stand off that Macbeth didn't want to be in it was only an amount of time before the police showed up.
Macbeth looked towards the door ten feet away from him and decided to make a break for it firing of wild shots in the direction of the enemy. As he passed through the door there was a seething pain in his arm, he had been clipped. There was no time to stop as he sprinted across the road towards Joe and the getaway car.
Stan was waiting in the wordy the above the vault, the security guard is still inside the vault but soon the door will open and Timmy would deal with it. That was the plan. Macbeth and Halliday would cause unrest in the bank, Timmys security partner would rush out to help deal with it, Timmy would enter the vault and ask the guard for help in the bank with the "issue" leaving the vault empty and alarm free for Dtan to drop in take the statue and get out before anyone would notice... Easy.
When Stan heard the gun shots he was taken aback, had this been the plan b if the first plan hadn't worked who knows but with the guns the guard inside the vault left of his own accord, result Stan though as he popped the panel out of the vent and dropped into the vault.
The gun shots continued to ring out but he just got on with the job in hand and that was getting past the glass case that housed the statue. Suddenly there was a bang and a stabbing pain him his stomach, he looked down and could see the blood forming on his shirt, his blood. Dropping to his knees as he was finding it hard to breath he turned his head just in time to see a boot come towards his face knocking him to the ground.
Outside - 15 Minutes Earlier
Joe had been sat waiting for a little while, he presumed that all was going ok as there had not been any signs that it hadn't. He continued to stair at the bank and then to the ally where Stan will appear from with the statue then back to the bank. Waiting.
Suddenly the back door opened and as he turned to see who had gotten in a fist hit him in the side of the face but not before he could see whoever hit him was wearing a mask, he reached for the gun which was sat in the pocket of the car door but it was too late, he couldn't breath, then he felt like he was chocking then he was gone... Throat slit, bleeding out.
