*The scene opens in a dark alley before a man comes into view.*
*The man is dressed in tan fatigues and a black t-shirt. The most distinguishing feature of his attire is the bear paw in the center of his chest.*
There's a lot that has been said about the XWF. They say that this is the place to be if you want competition. This is where to be if you want to go up against the best in the world. If you want prestige, honor, or adulation then inside the XWF ring is where you want to be. That's all well and good, but none of that matters to me. The honor, the prestige, competition...the fans...None of that matters to me. What matters to me is money, inflicting pain, and imposing my will. I don't care where those things are coming from. Right now the suits behind XWF see fit to pay me for my services. Because they're paying me, I get to inflict pain and impose my will here. Starting this Wednesday. That brings me to you, Mr. Rockwell. Rockwell, see I've got nothing personal against you, at all. I hope you understand that. You should also understand that I have a reputation to uphold outside of XWF, *he rubs the bear paw on his chast* don't get hung up on MMA training, and I need to make an example out of you on Wednesday to build that reputation here. I need to make an advertisement out of you. Wednesday night, I will be showing everyone in the XWF what I can do and what services they can aquire...for a price. I've done a lot of bad things and hurt a lot of people for the type of money I'm getting to be here, and it says a lot of what the suits here think of you, Rockwell, that they're feeding you to me. I've been called ruthless, evil, vicious, malicious, greedy, and cold-hearted. I've also been called a professional. That's the word that sticks to me. That's the one that resonates. You see, a professional isn't just in things for money. He makes his work an art. You might be well-read on Sir Francis Bacon, but my art's a bit different. Rockwell, what happens to you on Wednesday may just be business, but I'll be damned if I won't make that beating a thing of beauty. I'm Eric Rex, and that's what I do.
*Eric Rex walks down the alleyway before turning down the sidewalk and out of view.*
