The Knight that Fights with Honor

XWF FanBase:
Some men, some teens, few women

(the villain you love to hate; has cult following)

Date: September 10, 2014
Location: On the freeway of Las Vegas, Nevada

The lights of the electronic monitors shine brightly, advertising casinos and hotels at amazing low prices. Many people are lured into these luxuries because they have a ton of money to throw away at the roulette wheel and the blackjack table. Unfortunately for them, most of their money ends up in the casino vaults, where the money is stored just in case a big winner is announced. More than likely, said big winner would either work for the casino or just be the owner themselves. There is no Ocean's Eleven to rig many of the games to let everyone win and become millionaires in one night. They might as well just be throwing their money down a deep well.

However, our story does not take place in those money deathtraps, but rather on the busy freeways near those deathtraps. Inside a blue Saturn L300, Johnathan Heartsford and some unfortunate cameraman that decided to take a ride along with him are waiting to move forward at least an inch. The knight is clearly frustrated at people for not moving along when some douche couldn't decide whether or not to go off the freeway or stay on it. The sound of horns can be heard blaring through the car, even with the windows rolled up. He releases an annoyed sigh before addressing the cameraman.

"This is the kind of traffic I expect from Vegas. You know the kind. The kind where sheeple get excited to blow their paycheck on slot machines that never even come close to letting them win? I should know; my parents just loved to gamble their life savings away on having three or five sevens appear on the monitor. They hardly ever win, but they just love the thrill of coming close."

Horns continue to blare out. Johnathan places one hand over his temples, trying to ease his mind from a possible migraine.

"So many people want to win big in the world so they can buy whatever makes them happy. Heh, big shots are likely to believe anything when they are desperate. They believe that they'll get rich quick and pay off their debts and bills just as fast. They fall fast on their faces instead of getting big, rich, and famous. What a waste."

He takes his hand off of his face and focuses on the road again. He has a small smirk on his face as he lightly taps the gas pedal, moving forward a centimeter.

"This attitude reminds me of the talk of big game Mastermind recently gave me. Or should I say lack thereof? You see, Mastermind attempted to intimidate me by calling out my knighthood and placement on the ladder of XWF. All he managed to do, however, was make stupid pop culture references and make an insipid comment on my nickname. He sincerely thinks that my name is Aerial. What a stupid bastard."

The horns are honking more frequently now, since the exits are blocked off by other cars. This annoys Johnathan quite a bit, but the cars seem to be moving a slight bit.

"Aerial is not only another word for traveling in the air, something I bet the man who can't even master his own mind already knows, but it is also the word you'll utter when you realize you didn't wake up from Knightfall fast enough."

He laughs a bit.

"It seems pointless for me to tell you this, but I might as well tell you my actual name. My name is Sir Johnathan Heartsford. Remember it well. Or don't since the name 'Aerial Knight' has been catching on faster than smallpox ever could. No matter, I'll poke fun of your name like you did mine, jackass. What exactly are you supposed the mastermind of? Some stupid corporation that never got off the ground? The mastermind behind advertising? Well that can't be true because Sir Socrates has done it much better much earlier. Are you the mastermind behind putting people to sleep? Well, your little sleeper hold hasn't been used for a while and your matches are rather boring, so yes, I guess you are the mastermind of something after all."

The honking becomes less frequent as the cars move along at a respectable speed. This makes Johnathan speed up quite a bit, catching up to the cars that previously had no idea what they were doing.

"The championship belt you told me was useless? Forged into the Heavymetalwieght championship. Not relevant at all to our match. The Xtreme Championship you lost to the last letter of the alphabet? Unfortunate, yes, but not at all relevant to our match. Your losing streak? Clearly you haven't been trying to do anything about it. Your losses against Zi? Clyde Baker? Those eleven other guys that clearly did better than you? You haven't brought out your best. Your mind has been dimming down quite a bit, Master. Clearly it needs to be exercised quite a bit before you take on a knight. Maybe Sir Harrison would be so kind as to let the streak continue?"

He chuckles a tiny bit.

"Your losses will pile up unless you do something about it. No need to be pessimistic about it, though. All you have to do is prove to me, Harrison, and the entire state of Germany that you are credible enough to be a viable threat. You might call me a zealot since I want to fight my opponents at their fullest all the damn time, but I feel that it is necessary. Don't act like I'll be another easy target, that'll just get your hopes up into thinking that I'm weak. That will show weakness from you, which will make it all the more easier for me to make sure you never wake up from Knightfall."

He smiles as he surpasses quite a bit of the cars that have been slowing him down.

"This will be the end of the knight as everyone knows it, huh? Well, I feel just fine, Mastermind. If you're trying to master my mind through your words, it isn't working. Clearly you need a different approach if you want to stand a chance. The door's wide open for you to make a comeback, Master. Your turn."

Normally the camera would fade out at this point, but Johnathan's cellphone starts to ring. He notices it, but doesn't pick it up. Instead, he motions to the cameraman to pick it up. He hesitates a bit before answering it. The cellphone number is blurred out for privacy reasons; same goes for the name. The cameraman answers the button and signals for Johnathan to talk.

"Hello, this is Johnathan Heartsford."

"Johnny! I finally found you!"

Recognizing who the caller is, He slowly blinks out of annoyance towards this mystery person.

"Yes. You found me. Now hang up."

"No way! I'm not going to hang up on my own brother after I found his new cellphone number!" What kind of sister would I be then?

"Anyone but Syndi."

TO BE CONTINUED.
