For the first time in recent memory Sacrelidge was able to awaken after a refreshing night of sleep. The first thought of the day being of his upcoming opponent and the delusions he has about thinking he is the biblical Cain. Sacrelidge knew first hand that Cain's story was just as fictional as the pages it is printed on. To Sacrelidge the bible was nothing more than an over-extended fairy tale to scare people into thinking if they don't sell themselves into a metaphoric slavery they will be destined to spend eternity burning in the lake of fire.

Supposing the things that Cain says is true and he really was the world's first born child and grew up to become the world's first murderer, the only thing that would make him any different from Sacrelidge is an age difference. They were both sons of a whore and a man of God. Cain may be known as the world's first murderer but what about his people? When Cain was cast out of the Garden of Eden into the land of Nod he found a tribe of humans who were older, wiser, and more plentiful. Who is to say they had never committed murder? The answer was irrelevant to Sacrelidge, he cared not about these things as they were only bragging rights.

Sacrelidge was resting in the deserts of Arizona making his way closer to Phoenix each day with the fire in his heart and the craving for Cain's blood on his mind causing him to salivate and drive his anxiety levels to unheard of proportions. The sun beat down on Sacrelidge's coal black hair and milk white flesh yet he did not sweat. His mind was too occupied to break any kind of concentration that would allow his brain to send the necessary signals allowing him to shed salty and oily water to cool him.

At one point around noon Sacrelidge came upon a small area of cacti, one of which caught his eye. It appeared to be peyote.

Sacrelidge: Yes... this is it.

Sacrelidge, although anti religious, believed in the power of natural hallucinogenic plants and herbs to help him unlock necessary memories or conceptual thoughts to guide him on his journey.

He retrieves his dager and cuts the large button from the top of the cactus and peels away the small needle points and proceeds to eat the peyote button. Good peyote makes you vomit after eating it, which he did. After regaining his composure he continued his journey. Almost 90 minutes later the sunny landscape began to get wavy and danced before his eyes. The fact that he was in the blistering hot sun was not going to make his oncoming trip any lighter. As the landscape began shifting in color Sacrelidge knew he was about to begin his journey within a journey.

To be continued...
