Last night James Raven greeted a small group of media outside of the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and announced that the historic stadium would be home to 60,000 XWF fans on September 1st as the XWF Classic organization presents "XX", the 20 year anniversary show for the company and a reunion of sorts for several retired legends and fan favorites. Raven also let several details slip during his press scrum, including the fact that the Rogers Centre roof will be open for the event and that a third and fourth Hall of Legends inductee would be announced sometime today (Ranma Saotome has been confirmed, no news on a fourth name yet). Beyond all of this, he tipped his hand ever so slightly on some of the match making when asked about soon-to-be Legend Zach Rizza.
"Rizza is going to lace up the boots again, yeah. For some reason I got it into my head a year or two ago that he and Peter Gilmour both claimed to be the king of the Xtreme division... and we probably need to settle that. Rizza held the Xtreme title 16 or 17 times, Gilmour has had it 13 or 14. Let's put them in a ring and give them some weapons, and beat the ever loving hell out of each other for old times sake... and bragging rights of course..."
Rizza has been pursued by XWF management multiple times over the years for a return, and came close on several occassions when Vinnie Lane offered him a shot at the infamous Gilmour, but it seems like a deal has finally been agreed upon and XWF fans will get to see "Big Tyme" Zach Rizza in action at least one more time on September 1st!
